Some years ago in Nov 2009, an interesting issue of THE ECONOMIST commented the extraordinary development of the Brazilian economic area (read more).

Now in Oct 2013 some years later, a new article describes some new insights and questions former positive findings (read more). Without any doubt, the Brazilian government needs to reshape the economic frame towards clear investments in logistic infrastructure and industrial growth, avoiding further deindustrialization.

And the starting situation is not so bad – the actually 7th large economy receives appreciable cash inflow from commodity sales – an ideal situation for reinvestment. On the other hand and as a consequence, the high import taxes must be lowered, at least to enforce the needed and necessary industrial dynamic.
